Part time work at all time high

The employment rate just climbed, which would be really good news except the vast majority, or about 97,000 of the jobs are part time. which means 97,000 people have no benefits, and are earning less than the wage they would earn if they had full time jobs and got paid a full timer's hourly rate. Mark Twain said that there are Lies, damned lies, and statistics". Unemployment stats are the most misleading thing that business and politicians spew to willfully distort people's perception.

If one works a Tim Horton's?/Walmart job at minimum wage a few hours a week, they are considered "employed". A far better economic indicator is a job quality index. However, it wouldn't paint such a rosy picture.
